Check in & check out

Check-in online up 48 hours before arrival and collect your keys from the Sandringham Hotel next door – open 24 hours a day.

Rooms guaranteed from 4pm but are usually ready earlier.

Latest check-out is 10:30am but you can keep your car parked throughout the day.

Parking info

We have free guest car parking available 200 yards away – we will need your vehicle registration(s) to send you directions before you arrive.

Alternatively, we also have parking for 10 cars on-site at the rear of the hotel on a first-come, first-served basis.

Furry friends

Yes, being a family of dog lovers we are dog friendly.

We must be informed if you are bringing your furry friend prior to your arrival – select the dog add-on when booking.

We welcome fully house trained dogs over 12 months old and subject to section 10 of our terms and conditions.

No we do not have a lift, nor do we have any ground floor rooms, I’m afraid.

If you have limited mobility or any additional requirements, please contact us prior to booking.

No, the hotel is not manned 24 hours a day. The housekeeping / estates team are in the building at various times throughout the day. The fire alarm and security systems are monitored.

If you need anything at all, the Sandringham Hotel next door has a 24 hour reception… There is a telephone in the lobby with a button to contact them, or you can call them from your mobile – 01983 402072 (opt 2).

No, we do not have a swimming pool nor a hot tub or spa.

Guests staying with us are not permitted to use the leisure facilities at our sister hotels either, I’m afraid.

We do not provide towels for use on the beach, so please ensure that you bring your own.

Yes, every room has a kettle as well as tea, coffee, sugar and cups – replenished daily by housekeeping if required.

No, our rooms do not have [mini] fridges. We can store medication for you – please contact us to arrange this before your arrival.

Yes, complementary WiFi is provided throughout the hotel – including bedrooms.

We have a fibre to the premises connection with a low ping meaning fast response and low latency or “lag”. Bandwidth is limited to ensure fair use between all guests – perfect for browsing, HD streaming, light gaming or work.

We do not charge for infants (under 2 years of age).

We can provide a cot for a small additional charge – select the cot add-on when booking or you are welcome to bring your own travel cot with you.

We are a room-only hotel, so do not serve any breakfast or dinner.

There are lots of local eateries, cafés, restaurants and pubs nearby and in walking distance.

If we organised your ferry travel for you then please contact us to request a change.

The ferry operator will be unable to speak with you direct due to data protection, so please don’t contact them yourselves.

VAT invoices are automatically issued by email at 8:30am on your departure day. To request a copy invoice please contact us.

By Car

We can book your car or vehicle ferry travel for you from Southampton to East Cowes, and return, with Red Funnel from £79 to £119 per car in 2026.

Select the car ferry add-on when booking or contact us to add it onto an existing booking. Tell us your preferred sailing times; we’ll book it subject to availability, and send you your ticket.

Or you can book your own Wightlink crossing from Portsmouth > Fishbourne or Lymington > Yarmouth.

On Foot/Bike

We can book your bike or foot passenger catamaran travel for you from Southampton to West Cowes, and return, with Red Funnel’s Red Jet for just £35 per person in 2026.

Select the passenger ferry add-on when booking or contact us to add it onto an existing booking. Tell us your preferred sailing times; we’ll book it subject to availability, and send you your ticket.

Or you can book your own Wightlink crossing from Portsmouth Harbour > Ryde Pier or with Hovertravel from Southsea > Ryde.

Buses & Trains

Buses and trains are easily accessible once you arrive on the island, or there’s taxi ranks adjacent.

The Island Line train service operates from Ryde Pier to Shanklin with a station in Sandown just 15 minutes away – along Station Avenue – follow signs to the beach.

Southern Vectis operate buses around the island, with a stop just behind us on the High Street and Victoria Road.

If you’re arriving into Cowes, you’ll need bus route 1 then 2, 3 or 8 – number 8 is the quickest.

If you’re arriving into Ryde, you’ll need bus route 2, 3 or 8 – number 2 is the quickest.
